Computer Illustration


 These two assignments were created in Adobe Illustrator Using Vector based graphics the first is a poster of my my Chinese horoscope as a Year of the Water Dog.
The Second assignment below was an art book, where the binding was part of the medium. My art book was in  a cross shape and is cover for a CD that has Music on it. The topic or subtext of the book is the ongoing social battle between "conservatives" and "liberals" especially in the church.
In the Director portion of my School work is  a digital copy of the same Art book.

WebDesign

In the Web design Class we gained experience in the design and functionality of a  web site. For my Final assignment I created a  digital HTML version of a screen play I wrote called "Jesus Mary and Joseph" you can view my actual website below.

Macromedia Director

 In the Macromedia Director class we worked more on design and basic functionality of the program we then in a later class worked on creating programming for the applications.

1.) Project Two: "Ass Hitch" A Short Funny cartoon about students that pull a wheel bag.

2.) Final Assignment "Screen Play" A Digital version of the screen play I wrote.

3.) "Jukebox/Arcade slide show"
This is a dynamic slide show created in  Macromedia  Director with  buttons and comands  programmed in.

4.) "Red Verses Blue"
A digital representation of the art book described above in Computer Illustration.



Video Production One;


his course introduces elementary concepts of video production including digital video camera operation and digital non-linear editing and the necessity of pre-production planning to insure a smooth production process. Students are taught basic camera techniques, pre-production and production practices through hands-on learning to develop basic field video production skills combined with individual creativity and the importance of teamwork and deadlines. Projects will be produced in the context of learning the theory and practice of pictorial continuity as it applies to multimedia productions.

1.) Quick One Assignment: "Gold Digger"
In This assignment all we had was a two hour class period to create a strory shoot it and our other team members assignments and edit them.

2.) Instructional Assignment: " How To make An Expresso"
Just like it's title this is an instructional piece on how to make  a proper Expresso or Espresso.

3.) Final Assignment: "Pig Nuts"
This was my first attempt at story telling with a camera. It is a true story of  me  cooking baked potatoes for  three hundred people and not having enough bacon bits so I had to get creative

Personal Video

 I did some work for Roosevelt Middle School, The piece was performed by their drama class. The piece is to be played during their play.

Lighting Video

 This course will give the student a comprehensive mix of lighting techniques, tools and theory that can be applied to media production including video, photography, and production design. Students will learn the fundamental properties of light as well as practical advice, tips and tricks for improving production values from the studio or location to the screen. Students will gain an understanding of image manipulation and demonstrations, practical hands-on exercises and assignments.

In this assignment we were to recreate an existing image using the lighting techniques we had learned in class.

This assignment we were given freedom to do anything we liked. I am a big fan of claymation or stop motion animation so I created a scene  using small figures.

Audio Production

Basic theories and practices of audio production for video and multimedia. Includes the use of microphones, mini disc recorders, mixing consoles, and digital audio workstations for a variety of sound collection and processing applications.

Audio Midi

This course provides the student with an opportunity, through group instruction and hands-on experience, to study current applications of music technology in a comprehensive MIDI/audio studio. Students will learn to use various music production tools, using MIDI sequencing, patch editing, digital audio recording, MIDI networking, digital effects devices and plug-ins, and both digital and analog mixing systems. Each student is assigned to one of the 20 MIDI/audio studios, where they will complete creative lab assignments. Students will work in the studios a minimum of 3 hours outside of class.

Video Production Two;

 This course teaches advanced concepts and skills in digital video production and non-linear editing. The theory and practice of digital non-linear editing is emphasized. Students receive hands-on opportunity to learn advanced camera techniques, pre-production and production practices, combined with individual creativity and the importance of teamwork and deadlines. Projects will be produced in the context of learning the theory and practice of video production and computerized video editing combined with the applications of multimedia programs.

    In this assignment we were given multiple sports clips and asked to produce a dynamic edited piece.
Project 2 Visual Narrative: Love Book
    In this piece we were given  a section of music and we created a visual narrative.

    This is a 30 second advertisement for Heinz Ketchup.

Concepts of Visual Literacy

 
Introduces students to elementary concepts of visual literacy, including theories of representation and design. Includes the role of composition, color, time, motion, lighting, and sound in the design of moving images for film, television, and computer imaging. Students will learn to incorporate these design elements into visual projects and learn how to critically evaluate visually mediated messages.
